Connect Contact Form 7 to Klaviyo

ChimpMatic sends Contact Form 7 submissions straight to your Klaviyo lists. Connect with a private API key, map profile properties, and every form submission becomes a Klaviyo profile ready for your flows.

What you need

Create a Klaviyo private API key

  1. In Klaviyo, click your organization name in the bottom-left, then Settings.
  2. Open API Keys and click Create Private API Key.
  3. Name it (for example “ChimpMatic”), grant it list and profile access, and copy the key. Private keys are shown once.

Connect Contact Form 7 to Klaviyo

  1. In WordPress, edit the form under Contact → Contact Forms.
  2. Open the Chimpmatic tab and choose Klaviyo as the provider.
  3. Paste your private API key and connect. Your lists load automatically.
  4. Select the list new profiles should join.

Map your form fields

Match each Contact Form 7 field to a Klaviyo profile property: email is required, and fields like first name, last name, organization, or phone number map to the standard properties. ChimpMatic Lite maps the required email plus up to four additional fields; Pro expands the mapping. Full details in the field mapping guide.

Consent and confirmation

Klaviyo decides confirmation behavior per list: if the list you selected uses double opt-in, new profiles get Klaviyo’s confirmation email before they are subscribed; single opt-in lists subscribe immediately. Configure it on the list in Klaviyo, and ChimpMatic honors it. See how double opt-in works across providers.

Test it

  1. Save the form and submit a test entry with a real inbox you control.
  2. In Klaviyo, open Audience → Lists & segments, select your list, and confirm the profile arrived with the mapped properties.
  3. If the list uses double opt-in, confirm via the email and re-check the profile’s consent status.

FAQ

Private key or public key?

Private. The public (site) key only identifies your account for onsite tracking; adding profiles to lists requires a private API key.

Can different forms feed different lists?

Yes. Each form’s Chimpmatic tab is independent, so every form can target its own Klaviyo list, or a different provider entirely.

Will submissions trigger my Klaviyo flows?

Profiles added to a list can enter any flow using that list as a trigger, exactly as if they had joined through a Klaviyo form.
