Connect Contact Form 7 to MailerLite

What the MailerLite integration needs

  • A WordPress site with Contact Form 7 active
  • ChimpMatic Lite 0.9.80 or newer
  • An account on any plan, including the free one, with at least one group

Get your MailerLite API token

  1. Log in and open Integrations from the left menu.
  2. Under the API option, click Use, then Generate new token.
  3. Name the token, for example “ChimpMatic”, and copy it. The token appears only once, so copy it before you leave the page.

Connect Contact Form 7 to MailerLite

  1. In WordPress, edit the form under Contact → Contact Forms.
  2. Next, open the Chimpmatic tab and choose this provider.
  3. Then paste your API token and connect, and your groups load automatically.
  4. Finally, select the group that new subscribers should join.

Map your form fields

Match each Contact Form 7 field to a subscriber field. The email is required, while fields such as name, last name, company or phone map to their counterparts. ChimpMatic Lite maps the email plus up to four more fields, and Pro expands the mapping. The field mapping guide has the full details.

Double opt-in with MailerLite

Confirmation is an account-level setting here. So if double opt-in is on in your account, new subscribers from your forms get a confirmation email before they become active. ChimpMatic respects that setting instead of fighting it. See how double opt-in works across providers.

Test it

  1. First, save the form and submit a test entry with a real inbox you control.
  2. Then open Subscribers and check that the new subscriber is in the right group with its fields filled.
  3. If double opt-in is on, confirm through the email and check the status again.

Does this work with the free plan?

Yes. The integration uses the standard API, which every plan includes.

Can different forms feed different groups?

Yes. Each form’s Chimpmatic tab is independent, so every form can target its own group, or even another provider.

Classic MailerLite or the new platform?

Generate the token from the Integrations page of your current dashboard, as described above, because that is the API the integration uses.
