External Services

ChimpMatic connects your WordPress forms to email marketing providers you choose. This page explains exactly what leaves your site, when, and where it goes, so you can document your data flows and review each provider’s terms.

What is sent, and when

When a visitor submits a Contact Form 7 form that you have configured with an integration, ChimpMatic sends that submission’s data to the provider selected for that form:

  • the email address entered in the form,
  • the values of the fields you mapped (for example first name or phone),
  • the destination you selected (audience, list, or group), and
  • the visitor’s consent choice, when the form includes one.

Forms without a configured integration send nothing. The data goes directly from your server to the provider’s API; form submissions are not routed through chimpmatic.com.

The services, by integration

Mailchimp

Used when a form’s provider is Mailchimp (setup guide). Data is sent to the Mailchimp API (Intuit Mailchimp). Review the Mailchimp terms and privacy statement.

Brevo

Used when a form’s provider is Brevo (setup guide). Data is sent to the Brevo API. Review the Brevo terms and privacy policy.

MailerLite

Used when a form’s provider is MailerLite (setup guide). Data is sent to the MailerLite API. Review the MailerLite terms and privacy policy.

Klaviyo

Used when a form’s provider is Klaviyo (setup guide). Data is sent to the Klaviyo API. Review the Klaviyo terms and privacy notice.

Your credentials

API keys and tokens you enter are stored in your own WordPress database and used only to authenticate requests to the provider they belong to. An active account with the provider is required for its integration to work.

For your privacy policy

If you use these integrations, tell your visitors which provider receives their form data and why. A sentence like “Information submitted through this form is added to our mailing list, managed by [provider]” alongside a link to the provider’s privacy policy covers the common case; consult your own counsel for your jurisdiction’s requirements.
